Connie Mae Parli



Connie Mae Parli, 74, died on July 15, 2023, at her home in Sun City, AZ. Connie was born November 4, 1948, in Maquon, IL, to Lawrence Leroy and Elizabeth June Patton Parli. Connie is survived by one sister, Lauretta Lee (Sonny) Snyder, Yates City, IL, and one brother William Charles (Cindy) Parli, Carlock, IL, one niece, Cindy (Jason) Chasteen, Oneida, IL, five nephews, Scott Snyder, Yates City, IL, Benjamin David (Vanessa) Parli, South San Francisco, CA, Jonathan Michael (Danielle) Parli, Eola, IL, Timothy Christian (Caryn) Parli, Carbondale, IL, and Philip (Michelle) Parli-Horne; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Allison Chasteen, Alex Chasteen, Adam Chasteen, Grace Elizabeth Parli, Emma Jean Parli, Evelyn Mabel Parli, Yale David Parli, Christian Charles Parli, and Emmett Justin Parli; and one brother-in-law, David (Ann) Horne, Springfield, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Leroy and Elizabeth June Parli and two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Parli and Christina Dee Parli. Connie graduated from Valley Senior High School, Fairview, IL, in 1966, where she participated in band and Robed Choir. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music from Carthage College, Kenosha, WI, in 1970. Connie was General Music Teacher Grade School and High School at Dallas City Community School District, Dallas City, IL, and was Teacher and Assistant Principal until her retirement at Glendale Elementary School, Glendale, AZ. Connie blessed others with her passion for music as choir director at St. John's Lutheran Church, Glendale, AZ. Connie enjoyed reading, singing, genealogy, and time with family and friends. Connie is remembered as a gifted vocalist and music director, a compassionate person who motivated her students to be their best, a vibrant conversationalist and a fun person to be with, and a faithful follower of Jesus. Connie faithfully shared the joy of music and the blessings of her faith with the people in her world. A memorial service will be arranged at a future date. Abel Funeral Services, 1627 N. 51st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, is assisting with the cremation arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Pediatric Cancer, 225 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60611
